Convergence Week Two: Steel, Azrael, Hal Jordan Parallax...and Kingdom Come?!
Tue, 11/18/2014 - 9:00am Author: Tim Beedle Earlier this month, we announced CONVERGENCE, DC Comics’ two-month massive crossover event landing in stores in April. Last week, we revealed the titles and creative teams making up the first week of miniseries, which you can see here if you missed it. Well, fans and readers, it’s time to pull back the curtain just a little further as we reveal the exciting wave of two-issue miniseries that will be released in Convergence Week Two! Revealed earlier this morning on Hitfix and Blastr, Week Two also consists of ten titles. But where Week One’s titles focus on the DC Universe prior to The New 52, this week’s comics are set in the DC Universe prior to 1994’s Zero Hour. Yes, we’re talking about the days when Steel kept the streets of Metropolis safe, Azrael went from fighting Batman to temporarily replacing him, and Hal Jordan became one of the single biggest threats the DC Universe had ever faced. But what role will the heroes and villains of the acclaimed Kingdom Come graphic novel play in everything? We’ll find out when issue #1 of the below miniseries hits stores on April 15th, followed by issue #2 on April 22nd. Check out the art, teams and synopses for Week Two below.
SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL Writer: Louise Simonson Artist: June Brigman and Roy Richardson, with color by John Rauch Metropolis was taken when Superman was missing, so it’s up to Steel to guard the city from the heroes of GEN13 in his absence. BATMAN: SHADOW OF THE BAT Writer: Larry Hama Artist: Philip Tan and Jason Paz, with color by Elmer Santos A year ago, Batman got trapped in Metropolis when hunting down Azrael. Now he must team with the man that replaced him, and see how differently they operate as Batmans. JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL Writer: Ron Marz Artist: Mike Manley, with color by Sotocolor The levity of the JLI team collides with the severity of the world of Kingdom Come. SUPERGIRL: MATRIX Writer: Keith Giffen Artist: Ramon Bachs, with color by Hi-Fi What do Supergirl, Lady Quark, and Ambush Bug have in common? Well... nothing really. But that didn't stop us from sticking them in a story together. You are SO welcome. GREEN LANTERN/PARALLAX Writer: Tony Bedard Artist: Ron Wagner and Bill Reinhold, with color by Paul Mounts Rookie Green Lantern Kyle Rayner gears up to battle invaders, but is he ready to fight Hal Jordan, also known as Parallax? CATWOMAN Writer: Justin Gray Artist: Ron Randall, with color by Gabe Eltaeb A year under the dome can change anyone, even Catwoman. She's set aside her life of crime to become the protector of Suicide Slum, but when the dome falls she will face her greatest challenge—Kingdom Come Batman. SUPERBOY Writer: Fabian Nicieza Artist: Karl Moline and Jose Marzan Jr, with color by Hi-Fi Has Kon-El earned the right to be the man of steel? Kon will have to prove his mettle in battle against the Superman of Kingdom Come! But what if the only way to save Metropolis is to lose the fight? GREEN ARROW Writer: Christy Marx Artist: Rags Morales and Claude St-Aubin, with color by Nei Ruffino Oliver Queen meets Connor Hawke for the first time, but is he ready to hand over the Green Arrow mantle to his son? AQUAMAN Writer: Tony Bedard Artist: Cliff Richards, with color by John Rauch Trapped in the domed city, Aquaman struggles with the loss of his hand as he confronts a deadly adversary—Deathblow. SUICIDE SQUAD Writer: Frank Tieri Artist: Tom Mandrake, with color by Sian Mandrake When Kingdom Come's floating fortress of New Oa threatens Metropolis, it’s up to Amanda Waller to put together a team of the city’s deadliest villains to stop it.

Sí, es aconsejable leer primero esto: - Superman vol.2 #80 (que forma parte de Reign of the Supermen) - Emerald Twilight (Green Lantern vol.3 #48 al 50) - Emerald Fallout (Guy Gardner Warrior #18 al 21) |

Via IGN and The Nerdist, DC Comics has revealed the third week of ten April-May 2015 limited series that make up their Convergence event. Each week in April, 10 of the two-issue mini-series will debut, running for two months and taking the place of the full lineup of DC Comics for April and May 2015. Those will run concurrently with a weekly mini-series that tells the heart of the Convergence story. Week three keeps the nostalgia theme going - after week one brought us Cassandra Cain, Wally West married with children, Stephanie Brown Batgirl and Renee Montoya Question, and week two brought us 90s versions of Superboy, Green Arrow (Connor Hawke), and the Kingdom Come lineup of characters. It also continues the theme of bringing some creators either long-dormant or new to DC to take on their characters.
Marv Wolfman has two books in week three, but the most notable is an all-classic New Teen Titans lineup. Yes, that includes Donna Troy, one of the last real holdouts for the New 52, plus disco outfit Nightwing and more. The book will be drawn by Nicola Scott, Marc Deering, and Jeromy Cox, and features the team facing the Tangent Universe Doom Patrol. Indeed, that’s the theme of the week. Week one is (Pre-New 52) 2000s characters taking on Flashpoint. Week two is 90s characters versus Kingdom Come. Week three? 80s characters versus Tangent. Sensing a theme yet? Amongst the other notables, Josh Middleton does interior art for the first time in years, teaming up with Larry Hama on the Wonder Woman twofer - they’re bucking the Tangent trend, instead fighting “Red Rain” vampires. Carlos D’Anda, character and concept artist for the Batman: Arkham series of video games, provides pencils on Batman and the Outsiders written by Marc Andreyko. David Gallaher and Steve Ellis (with Ande Parks and Hi-Fi) bring their indie and webcomic sensibility to a tale of the Green Lantern Corps featuring an angry (but green-ringed) Guy Gardner. Here's a look at this week's ten Convergence series. BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS Writer: Marc Andreyko Artist: Carlos D’Anda Colorist: Gabe Eltaeb After a year under the dome, the Outsiders have gone their separate ways, but when OMAC attacks, Batman must find out if they have what it takes to still be a team.

True story.

He fights on, seeking justice as well as a way to save the city. But he faces a Tangent Universe foe that thinks faster than the Flash could ever move.

If only being the Green Lantern Corps was that easy. Hal has resigned, John is busy, and Guy is pissed. Together for the first time—they’ll save Gotham or die trying.
